As we all been hit by Covid-19 ‘21 days’ lockdown’ situation. It could be the best time for self-discovery. How about opting for a change in the daily hair care routine with some amazing hair hacks as this could be the time to get you into some good hair habits.

1. Don't sleep with wet hair

Are you habitual of running a hair bath at night and getting into bed with wet hair? It could be relaxing for your mind but not for your hair.

Sleeping with wet hair can cause damage to your hair in the long run and also may cause bacteria growth, acne, and even hair loss.

2. Healthy diet for healthy hair

Make sure during this quarantine period you opt for a healthy balanced diet that has hair care benefits as well. Indulge in a diet that stimulates hair growth with eggs, nuts, papayas, oranges, and sweet potatoes.

3. T-shirt dry those curly locks.

To maintain the texture and health of your curls, use an old t-shirt to dry your hair after a shower else you would end up with frizzy hair if you towel dry your curly hair.

4. DIY Hair mask

The best go-to solution during this lockdown could be using readily available ingredients at home and make your own DIY Hair Mask and flaunt those locks.

Take 2 cups of milk, 2 teaspoons of honey and 1 tsp flour

It's the best combo that works wonders for dry, brittle and damaged hair.

5. Air dry your hair

Now, this could be the best time to air dry your hair instead of blow-drying your hair. As you have enough time at home keep your blow dryer aside for few days and let your hair dry naturally. Repeatedly blow drying could damage your hair and can make it weak and brittle.

6. Get into a habit of #BaalonKiChampi

Make the best use of this lockdown period to nourish and oil your hair at least 2-3 times a week for thick luscious hair. Part your hair apart in two halves, take some oil on your fingertips and massage onto your scalp to let the oil penetrate in your scalp easily to help your hair get all the nourishment it deserves.

7. Don't wash your hair too often

As it’s a summer season you may feel like washing your hair too often. But over-washing your hair may cause damage to your hair and could also make your scalp dry and itchy. It is recommended to wash your hair once or twice a week only.

8. Stop touching your hair

Are your habitual of touching or caressing your hair ever too often? Well, then stop that because touching your hair could cause frizz and breakage. You may end up stealing away essential oils, leading to dry and easily broken hair strands.

9. Steam your hair

While at home pamper your hair in salon style. Dip your towel in warm water and remove excess water from it. Wrap the towel around your hair and keep it on for 10-15 minutes.

10. Stay hydrated

Drink at least 8-ounce glasses of water in a day and keep yourself hydrated all day long. If your water intake is insufficient your hair will become weak and fragile.

11. Avoid tying-up wet hair

The hair strands are in a delicate and fragile stage when they are wet. Chances of hair breakage are more when you tie-up your wet hair.

12. Use the right hair products

During the current quarantine situation, opt for home-based ingredients and oils. Also, go for a chemical-free hair care products which will cause lesser damage to your hair.

13. Nourish the tips of your hair

The ends of the hair make look dry, brittle and scaly. Don't forget to oil and nourish the ends of your hair locks as we usually tend to forget to oil the tips of the hair while we only concentrate on massaging the scalp.

14. Avoid unhealthy diet

Most of the time the very basic reason for stunted hair growth could be an improper, nutritionally deficient diet. Make sure you eat fresh and healthy cooked food with a variety of vegetables, nuts, eggs, and seafood.

15. Why not a home-workout session?

Indulge yourself into a morning workout session which would not only increase your immunity but also increases the blood circulation in the body and the scalp which in turn helps in hair growth.

16. A big No to super-hot water baths!

Although hot water baths calm your senses and make you feel relaxed but super hot water is a big no-no for the health of your hair. Eventually, it weakens your hair, making it dry and brittle.

17. No towel twisting your hair.

Most of us are habitual to twist the hair up into a towel after stepping out of the shower. But doing so may break your hair strands as wet hair is delicate to handle.

18.Make a wide-toothed comb, your best friend!

Fed up of those tangled locks? Invest in a wide-toothed comb as it helps to detangle your hair easily especially post-shower when your hair is wet and fragile.

19. Switch ponytails into loose buns

While you’re home quarantine twist your hair into loose buns instead of ponytails. With a tight ponytail, you may snap out a few hair strands.

20. Stay away from heat styling

Now that you are not stepping out of your house, stay away from heat styling your hair. When using a curling or straightening iron your hair's hydrogen bonds may damage and break the hair follicles.

21. Last but not least... Sleep well

This period could be the right time for you to grab some good sleep. At least sleep for 8 hours straight to avoid the adverse effects on hair.
